Read what others have said about ...

Papa, My Father

"Readers weary of parent-bashing books will welcome Leo Buscaglia's warm, compassionate tribute to his father, Papa, My Father "

"Buscaglia's usual humor and warmth come through his insightful lines. This is fine fare for family reading, offering food for discussions. This little book is for savoring during a quiet time, for it affords much for introspection. No one can come away from this simple account of a son's tribute to his father without being better for having read it."

Helen Roser

A Memory for Tino

"This heartwarming new story by one of the world's most beloved authors is one readers of all ages will want to return to again and again."

Bus 9 to Paradise

"The author writes in his familiar, zesty fashion... Here the title describes a bus Buscaglia observed, prompting him to speculate on the diverse views of paradise envisioned by hopeful individuals."

"While Buscaglia admits it not easy to be scorned as silly or naive, he insists that people must trust in loving passionately, answering cynics with the assurance that life is wonderful, joy is our birthright."

Publisher's Weekly, January 17, 1986

Commemorations

Comments upon the death of Leo Buscaglia, 12 June 1998

First Announcement from Leo's Office

As you know, Leo Buscaglia died Friday. Naturally, people are asking about plans to remember him. He specifically asked not to have a funeral service.

As for a tribute, there are four charities that could be considered.

  1. His own Felice Foundation a public foundation "enhancing the spirit of giving."
  2. The Tahoe Tallac Association Boathouse Theater, that he was so instrumental in bringing into reality.
  3. The food program here at the church that he personally helped support.
  4. A teaching scholarship he established at the University of Southern California: The Leo F. Buscaglia Inner City Teacher Scholarship Fund.

Leo doesn't need your prayers now, but if you really want to honor his memory, follow his example:
Make a special effort to look for the good in everyone and see the beauty in God's world ... and express it!

Leo often said, "God's gift to you is life itself. What you do with it is your gift to God."

God received an extremely precious and beautiful gift this week.

Keep Love Alive

The USC Celebration One of the two "official" celebrations of Leo's life was held at the Los Angeles campus of University of Southern California. We have a Transcript of Steven Short's address during that celebration.
Keep Love Alive The biggest part of the second "official" celebration was Keep Love Alive a global opportunity for all of us who were touched by Leo to share one special sunset.
Personal Messages Leo's death was an occasion for many people to appreciate the affect he had on their lives. Some have put their appreciations and other sentiments into words in the public participation area of this website, The Meeting Place. As always, your participation is welcome.
